At the end of this school year, five highly valued colleagues will say their goodbyes to the school.. Mieke de Jonge, Nadine Gosselin, Luc Weegels, Adri Albregtse, and Jantine Boomsma are all reaching retirement age.

All years combined, these colleagues have been associated with the Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest for 153 years. Mieke de Jonge has been one of our Dutch teachers for eighteen years. Nadine Gosselin has been a French teacher for 28 years. Luc Weegels ends a thirtyfour-year tenure as Art & Design teacher and Adri Albregtse leaves the school after 36 years as a Physics teacher. Jantine Boomsma has been with the school as a Maths teacher since 1980 and has been our vice-principal for Management and Organization since 2006. Jantine is ending her employment after a career of 38 years. At the farewell party on Friday, June 22, the Board of the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation presented Jantine, Luc and Adri with the medal of merit. Though all the words spoken to these five colleages were full of warmth, their departure represents a sensitive loss for our school. Of course, we all wish all five a wonderful and rewarding time of retirement.
