Rijnlands Lyceum presents: The Good Man of Sezuan

Three gods go in search of a good man. They arrive in the Chinese city of Sezuan. There they are excluded by everyone. Only the prostitute Shen Te is willing to provide shelter to them. A good person! The gods reward her with a hefty sum. Shen Te buys a tobacco shop. Immediately she is besieged by family, friends and neighbors who want to enjoy her wealth. Fortunately, her brother Shui Ta helps her keep the money wolves off her.

Then suddenly Shen Te disappears. Sezuan residents are even beginning to miss her a little. Only the question remains: why does someone suddenly disappear from the face of the earth?

The unmasking follows in court, the gods temporarily returning and ruling: was Shen Te really a good person?

• The lead roles are played by: Madelief Landwier (V5), Ruben de Roode (T6) & Liam Huijgens (DP1).
• More than 80 students and many teachers have been enthusiastically working on this show for months.

The premiere is on Saturday, Feb. 16. The remaining performances will take place on Sunday, Feb. 17, Monday, Feb. 18, Wednesday, Feb. 20 and Thursday, Feb. 21.
