The Rijnlands Lyceum in Oegstgeest has nurtured a drama tradition at its school for more than 30 years. Alternately, musicals and stage performances are performed by students from all grade levels and education streams.

Once again, about 80 students and many teachers have worked with great enthusiasm on this year’s performance, Moulin Rouge. Directed by Malte Huthoff, the music performance is in the hands of Mark van der Laaken and Gerwin van der Werf. Ashley Zaat is in charge of choreography.

Paris at the turn of the century: The place to be is the Moulin Rouge nightclub. Here, the beautiful dancer Satine is the star. The young writer Christian cannot help but fall madly in love with her.

Unfortunately, the Duke also has romantic interests in Satine. To continue their love for each other while hiding it from the Duke, the Spectacular Spectacular is devised.

Does the Duke see through the web of deceit being spun around him? In the end, are Satine and Christian meant for each other?

Come and see all this in this year’s Jukebox-Romantic-Comedy-Musical: Moulin Rouge!
