Ruth van de Putte has stopped teaching music at the Rijnlands Lyceum Oegstgeest after 28 years.

A procession of (former) students and (former) colleagues joined family members and friends in our school’s auditorium on Thursday, July 2, to honor her musically.

The audience enjoyed a large number of artists who took their first musical steps at the RLO and have since made music their profession. Among others, Oukje den Hollander, Robin Brock, Zjantal Ypma, Bram Bol, father and sons Leujes, Marie-Astrid Hoogerwerf, Arto Boyadjian, Vera Marijt & Malte Huthoff (from Brazil) paid tribute to Ruth and personally thanked her for inspiring them to continue in music.

Ruth closed the evening itself with a powerful speech in which she once again described the importance of committed education for young people.
